  153. 0801Nhim for five long years before miraculously returning with a fury. While the
  154. 0801Nstory makes for good PR, this collection of home demos from  the Dakota Years
  155. 0801Nevidences exactly the opposite. Much talk of John's home demos surrounded the
  156. 0801Nrelease of The Beatles' Anthology, and rightfully so.

  158. 0801NOver the last two years, Yoko presented Paul, George and Ringo with a
  159. 0801Nselection of four Lennon demos dating from the period 1977-1980. Three of
  160. 0801Nthese compositions (Grow Old With Me, Real Love and Free As A Bird) were
  161. 0801Navailable to the public for several years prior to their resurfacing, giving
  162. 0801Nus a unique insight to the recording process in reverse. Much speculation has
  163. 0801Nsurrounded the fourth recording. Scant, cryptic details from those in the
  164. 0801Nknow sent us scouring through the Lennon archives in search of the elusive
  165. 0801Ntrack. After much searching, we are pleased to present the premiere
  166. 0801Nappearance of Now And Then. But the surprises don't end there. The majority
  167. 0801Nof this release is taken from unadulterated source tapes, some of them
  168. 0801Npossessing an ambiance so true, you'd think John was performing in your
  169. 0801Nliving room.

  177. 0801Ndemo-us interruptus unlike the broadcast version which was artificially
  178. 0801Nextended. Take 3, whose vocal is now instantly recognizable, appears
  179. 0801Nelsewhere on this collection. Listening to these takes, it becomes apparent
  180. 0801Nthat the backing track of the recordings was indeed a composite of John's
  181. 0801Ndemos, rather than a single take.

  330. 0801NElephant's Memory Band during their 1972 Record Plant breakfast jam.
